At Dancecorp Dance Studios, our Stretch & Flexibility Class is low impact and includes a series of stretches using barres, body weight, balance and the floor. No experience required!
This class is ideal for those us who spend long hours at a desk and struggle to make time to prioritise their health and exercise – trust us, you are not alone!
Led by qualified dance instructors who have perfected the art of warming up and stretching, this class has been specifically designed to stretch and activate muscles across your entire body one by one, helping improve both your physical and mental health.

Stretching is one of the most effective ways to keep the body in good working order, yet most of us struggle to find the time to do it regularly (and stick with it!).
Our members who attend this class often comment that they love having this class booked in the diary every week because it ensures they take the time for themselves (#selfcare) and they can’t keep putting it at the bottom of the to-do list.
The aim of our Stretch and Flexibility class is to:

Stretching Classes Brisbane: What to Expect
Every Dance Active class on offer at Dancecorp Dance Studios, including our Stretch and Flexibility Class, runs for 60 minutes.
These sessions have a maximum of 8 participants. While our studios have space to accommodate more, we love keeping our classes small so members get to enjoy more interaction with our instructors.
Class Rundown
- We always begin with an easy warm up to wake up the muscles, before light gentle stretching which continues to warm up the body.
- The big stretches of the main and larger muscles come later in the class once the body is fully warm.
NB: The beginning warm-up is crucial, as stretching cold muscles is dangerous and they are more likely to tear or snap just like a cold rubber band.
When are stretching classes held?
Dancecorp currently offers one Stretch and Flexibility class per week, which takes place on Saturday mornings from 9:30am- 10:30am at our Woolloongabba dance studio in Brisbane.
We are eager to add more classes to the timetable as we continue to grow our Dance Active program, so tell your family and friends!
What to wear or bring?
- Comfortable clothing that doesn’t restrict movement
- Bare feet or grip socks are recommended
- A towel and water bottle
- We provide mats, but you’re welcome to bring your own if you’d prefer
What experience is required?
No experience required for our stretching class.
This class is low impact and intensity. It doesn’t require a great deal of fitness at all.
And please be assured that you don’t have to be a dancer or have a background in dance to take part!
In fact, this class is ideal for people who have lost mobility or are wishing to improve their range of movement and posture.
While anyone over the age of 18 can attend, we find people in their 30’s and above benefit most, as they typically feel the pressure and pains of an aging body more than someone in their 20’s does.

About Our Stretch and Flexibility Instructor
Our Stretch and Flexibility instructor has been trained in many forms of dance and understands the importance of safe stretching and regular stretching.
She has been a limber coach and instructor in many dance schools and studios. Plus, she has a certificate in Sports Anatomy from her time in a London dance company, so you are in safe hands!
